Twitch for Cotton Teal

A tip-off (Thanks, Tung and the others who gave us a call) and off we went to Shan Pui village, Yuen Long.

Loads of people had come and gone, but an appreciative crowd lingered..

And here's one taken in Long Valley yesterday

Oriental Reed Warbler

Lots of interesting autumn migrants around at the moment.

  1. Nice to see familiar birds! Where would this village be - how far from HK?

  2. Very nice shots of the birds John. The Cotton Teal is quite the find and I love the photos of the Pheasant-tailed Jacana and Oriental Reed Warbler. The Oriental Reed Warbler actually reminds me of our Ash-throated Flycatcher in North America.
