(Eastern) Imperial Eagles at Mai Po, Hong Kong

Adult in flight (actually, it was so close with the 800mm I clipped the wingtip off this shot !)

juvenile/first winter

juvenile/first winter

They seemed to be fighting over something in the grass, but I couldn't see what it was
also present: Collared Crow and Greater Spotted Eagle

"Head over heels" - one of the two senior Imperial Eagles tumbled junior right off his perch

  5. Thanks to all for for comments... there has been a lot of clearance on Ponds 20/21 at Mai Po and the open area has provided space for wintering raptors...up to 4 (Eastern)Imperial Eagles and 3 Greater Spotted Eagles... but not always at the same time !

Bena Smith and the other WWF HK people have done a fine job here. (Mai Po is managed by WWF HK)
